About Santa Fe Springs Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles serves in Los Angeles County, administering both the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing programs. The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program currently assists approximately 23,000 families through a partnership with over 13,000 property owners. The Public Housing program manages 3,336 public and other affordable housing units throughout Los Angeles County.


Mission Statement

the Housing Authority will deny moves to a “higher cost rental unit” within the HACoLA's Jurisdiction. A higher cost unit is a unit in which HACoLA would have to pay a higher subsidy amount due to a higher gross rent for the new unit. The Housing Authority will also deny moves for families who attempt to relocate to a “higher cost area” outside of HACoLA's jurisdiction via portability. A higher cost area is an area where a higher subsidy will be paid because of more generous subsidy standards or higher payment standards in the jurisdiction of the receiving PHA.
