About Upland Housing Authority

The Housing Authority of the City of Upland (UHA) was founded on August 8, 1940, by a resolution of the Upland City Council. The Council Resolution declared the need for a Housing Authority in the City of Upland and appointed the first five-member Board of Commissioners. Construction of "Los Olivos", a Public Housing project, began in 1942 and opened its doors in September of 1943. In July of 1976 UHA began administering a Section 8 Rental Assistance program.

UHA administers the Conventional "Public" Housing and Section 8 programs to the public, addressing the need for affordable housing for low and moderate income individuals and families in the Upland area.


Mission Statement

The mission of the Upland Housing Authority is to be the area's affordable housing of choice, to provide and maintain safe, quality housing in a cost-effective manner, and to partner with others to offer rental assistance and other related services to the community in a nondiscriminatory manner.
