About Campbell County Housing Authority

The Section 8 Voucher Program was established by the Federal Government. Locally, it is administered by the Campbell County Department of Housing under contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program offers subsidized rent of low income families.

Section 8 is a federally funded Housing Assistance Program (HAP) and allows individuals to chose privately owned housing in Campbell County and other areas in the state and country. Applicants are encouraged to locate housing outside of impoverished neighborhoods and areas.

The Campbell County Housing Department administers Section 8 assistance to Campbell County (excluding Newport) and Pendleton County.

Additional Information

The agency’s waitlist is currently closed and there is no scheduled date to reopen the list. They may have an open waitlist for Highland Village in Highland Heights, Kentucky, and it is for applicants age 55 and older. If you are interested in making application for Highland Village please contact The Housing Authority of Newport @ (859) 581-2533 for more information. When a date is set to reopen the Section 8 waitlist it will be advertised in local newspapers and their website at http://www.campbellcountyky.org.
