The City of Chandler is currently only taking applications for the public housing program. The Section 8 waitlist is currently closed and there is no date of when it will be opening. The public housing program consist of homes and apartments that are owned by the city, your rent would be based on your income and the wait time is on average 1 ½ to 2 ½ years. Under this program you would not be able to choose where to live you would be offered what becomes available first. If you would like to apply for the program you may pick up an application at the office or you may download the application off the Web page at http://affordablehousing.chandleraz.gov If you have any additional questions please call the front desk at (480) 782-3200.
