About Yuma County Housing Department

The County of Yuma acting by and through the Yuma County Housing Department owns and operates low-rent housing apartments for low-income families. The Housing Department is a component of County government and is governed by the Yuma County Housing Governing Board of Directors.

The public housing consists of 1, 2, 3, 4 bedroom units which are located in Yuma, Somerton, and San Luis, Arizona. Eligible families including elderly, disabled, handicapped, and single persons who meet the very low income limits, pay rent proportionate to income. Our main office is located in Somerton, Arizona.


Mission Statement

The mission of the Yuma County Housing Department is to assist low-income families with safe, decent and affordable housing opportunities as they strive to achieve self-sufficiency and improve the quality of their lives. This mission shall be accomplished by a fiscally responsible, creative organization committed to excellence in public service.
