About Hawaiian Gardens Housing Division

The Housing Division administers a wide variety of housing and commercial rehabilitation programs that contribute to the quality of life, economic viability, and sustainability of the City Hawaiian Garden's neighborhoods. The Housing Division is responsible for the overall management and oversight of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Residential Rehabilitation Program, the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program, and other various housing activities. The Housing Division has also partnered with Habitat for Humanity and Grid Alternatives to administer their affordable housing programs.


Mission Statement

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is the Hawaiian Gardens Public Housing Authority (PHA) program for assisting very low income families, elderly and the disabled to afford decent, safe and sanitary housing in the private market. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
