About Mariposa County Housing Authority

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV Program), formerly known as the "Section 8 Program" is now being administered by the Housing Authority of the County of Stanislaus, which is located in Modesto, California. The HCV Program is a rental assistance program which assists low-income households in paying their rent. Typically, a household pays approximately 30% of their monthly income towards their rent and the Housing Authority pays the difference to the rental property owner.
The Housing Authority provides HCV Program services for the following Counties: Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, lnyo, Mariposa, Mono, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne County.
In addition to administering the HCV Program for all current HCV Program Participants and maintaining the existing waiting list for each county, the Housing Authority will be coordinating future waiting list openings for persons interested in applying for the HCV Program. Owners interested in participating in the HCV Program can also list their vacant rentals on the Housing Authority's website to expand the marketing range of potential tenants.
