About El Dorado County Public Housing Authority

The Housing Authority for the County of El Dorado is a legal entity that operates under the umbrella organization of the County of El Dorado Department of Community Services. The housing authority operates under federal guidelines from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide rental subsidy assistance program more commonly known as Section 8.

Additional Information

As of December 2017, the Section 8 Waiting List is not open for new applications. Check back every 6 months or so, at edcha@edcgov.us, in order to check on the status as to when they might once again be accepting applications. You may also check the status on the county website at http://www.edcgov.us/Government/HumanServices/Housing/Housing_Choice_Voucher_Program.aspx. In addition, it will be advertised in local papers and at local agencies. Please note that once on the waiting list, most people wait 4-10 years before reaching the top of the waiting list and being offered assistance. If you have any further questions, contact their office.
