About Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin

Since 1942, the Housing Authority of the County of San Joaquin has been continually serving the residents of San Joaquin County. The Authority was established as a result of the United States Housing Act of 1937 and is responsible for providing safe, decent, and affordable housing for low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The Housing Authority currently assists approximately 19,000 people.

For nearly 70 years, the Housing Authority has provided shelter and assistance in San Joaquin County through a variety of federal, state, and local affordable housing programs, as well as through partnerships with other agencies and businesses. The Authority oversees a multi-million dollar budget which results in the distribution of millions of dollars to the local economy.
