About Newark Housing Authority

We provide safe, decent and sanitary housing for very low- to moderate-income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities in the City of Newark. We administer two federally-funded affordable housing programs in the City of Newark.


Mission Statement

The mission of the Newark Housing Authority is to provide safe, decent and sanitary housing for very low to moderate income families, the elderly and persons with disabilities. Newark Housing Authority will manage resources efficiently, consistent with the highest ethical standards and free from discrimination. Newark Housing Authority will seek to empower residents and clients to reach self-sufficiency and make the transition to non-subsidized housing.
