About Deerfield Beach Housing Authority

Since our establishment by a charter of the City of Deerfield Beach in 1969, the Deerfield Beach Housing Authority has been committed to advocating for and providing affordable housing for eligible individuals and families. The DBHA works closely with the U.S. Department of HUD, the City of Deerfield Beach, and area agencies and organizations. Our collaborations allow us to provide many services and opportunities to not only our residents, but to the entire community. The DBHA acquired and renovated the Stanley Terrace Apartments in 1970, the first of our Affordable Housing Communities. In 1978, the Palms of Deerfield Apartments were constructed to provide housing for elderly and disabled residents.

The DBHA created the Sylvia Poitier Business Skills Center in 1999. The Business Skills Center partners with area businesses and organizations with the goal of helping individuals become self-sufficient through securing employment.
