About Lakeland Housing Authority

The Public Housing program was established to provide decent, safe, and sanitary rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with special needs. Public housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered single family houses to highrise apartments for elderly families. Public Housing is an option for those with incomes up to 80 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI).

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program provides rental assistance to low-income families in the private rental market.
