About New Smyrna Beach Housing Authority

We are a Housing Authority funded by the department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). An Executive Director manages the operations of the Housing Authority under HUD directives. The Executive Director is chosen by a five member Board of Commissioners, who were appointed by the Mayor's Office of the City of New Smyrna Beach.

The New Smyrna Beach Housing Authority (NSBHA) was established in 1950. 126 Public Housing units were built in stages over the years. These units are still in existence today. The Public Housing Waitlist is now open.

Later on the Section Eight Housing Choice Voucher program was started and now has 253 vouchers.
