About Valdosta Housing Authority

The Valdosta Housing Authority is located in beautiful south central Georgia, about 30 miles from the Florida line. The City of Valdosta is a progressive, rapidly growing newly-designated metropolitan city located along Interstate 75.
The Valdosta Housing Authority owns and operates 546 units of Public Housing within the City of Valdosta, as well as manages the Homerville Housing Authority in Homerville Georgia. We are proud of our history of assisting families from all walks of life in providing decent, safe and affordable housing in south Georgia.
The Housing Authority's mission is to serve our clients in the most effective way possible, in fostering a great living environment and providing a hand up — not a hand out! We do not provide temporary shelter or emergency housing — and typically our waiting list averages two months.
A six —member Board of Commissioners, appointed by the Mayor, governs the Housing Authority. The Board meets on the third Tuesday of each month at noon, and all meetings are open to the public.
