About East Tawas Housing Commission

Bay Park Tower South (304 W Bay Street) hosts 41 “independent living” units for senior and disabled individuals. All units are one bedroom units, 1 bathroom, living room, equipped kitchen, pantries, and balcony. Each floor holds storage unit for tenants to store seasonal items, and a garbage chute room for their convenience. The first floor of the building is where the main office is located, library with computers/internet, and cable television. The laundry facility is located on the first floor with three coin-operated washers and three coin-operated dryers. Our large community room holds a large kitchen area for guests to utilized or schedule family gathers or monthly potlucks. Our building is secured with an intercom system so that no one is allowed in unless tenant allows them. We allow pets, with restrictions, and we are a smoke-free building.

Bay Park Tower North (109 Church Street) hosts 44 “independent living” units for senior and disabled individuals. All units are one bedroom units, 1 bathroom, living room, equipped kitchen, pantries, and balconies on floors 2nd — 5th, the first floor apartments do not have balconies but are a little larger square footage. Floors 2nd — 5th have a storage unit for tenants to store seasonal items, and a garbage chute room for their convenience. Our large community room holds a large kitchen area for guests to utilized or schedule family gathers or monthly potlucks, as well as an area to watch cable television or utilize our computer and surf the internet. Currently we are in the preliminary steps of renovating this building with aspirations to put a new library area in the lobby area and a part-time office facility in the current library area, as well as updating numerous other items in and around the building. The laundry facility is located on the first floor with three coin-operated washers and three coin-operated dryers. Our building is secured with an intercom system so that no one is allowed in unless tenant allows them. We allow pets, with restrictions, and we are a smoke-free building.
