About Choanoke Area Development Association, Inc. (CADA)

CADA administers The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) which is a federally funded program that assists the very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled with affordable decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program not only provides rental assistance -- it is and can be a rewarding program for enthusiastic participants who are interested in achieving homeownership. CADA offers the HCVP program participant an opportunity to become self-sufficient for those who are self motivated and determine to their very own a home while participating in the program.


Mission Statement

CADA is a private, non-profit organization, a Community Action Agency, whose mission is to assist low income citizens achieve self-sufficiency and a better quality of life. Our purpose is to promote through regional cooperation, the industrial, agricultural, recreational, educational and general economic well being and health and welfare of the citizens of Bertie, Halifax, Hertford and Northampton Counties.
