About Hightstown Housing Authority

The Hightstown Housing Authority was established in 1964 to serve the low income residents of the Borough of Hightstown and the surrounding areas. The Housing Authority is comprised of 100 apartments of Public Housing that is regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Public Housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Public Housing comes in various sizes and types of housing, including single family houses, duplexes, and multi-unit apartment buildings. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides federal funds to local housing agencies, including Hightstown Housing Authority. In turn, these agencies manage the housing for low-income residents at rents they can afford.
