About Umatilla County Housing Authority (UCHA)

The Umatilla County Housing Authority (UCHA) was established December 13, 1949 under enabling legislation of the State of Oregon thus creating a political subdivision, a stand alone agency. We are not a taxing agency.

The Umatilla County Housing Authority (UCHA) has a firm commitment to service the citizens within our four county jurisdictions, which includes, Umatilla, Gilliam, Morrow and Wheeler counties, as well as maintaining and operating its current properties in the most efficient and highest standards possible. It is also the goal of the Housing Authority to assure the communities and its citizens that the valuable limited stock of affordable housing remains affordable in order to meet the needs of the current and future populations. By purchasing existing affordable housing and operating and maintaining these units to these high standards, we can be assured this valuable inventory will not be lost.
